New Patients

We understand the apprehension that can accompany your first visit to a new doctor.

That’s why everyone at Carolina Oral & Facial Surgery wants to establish open communication that promotes a positive, caring relationship from the beginning … one based on trust and mutual respect.

Child smiling at a football game To best serve you, an initial consultation is recommended before all surgeries. Our concerns extend to your total health and therefore it will be necessary to evaluate the problem for which you have been referred to us as well as your current health status. With a few exceptions, surgery is not performed at your first visit. If surgery is recommended, you will be provided with additional information about the procedure as well as how and where it will be performed. This initial visit enables you to be fully informed about your treatment plan. In addition, anesthesia options and postoperative results will be discussed. During the same visit, we will discuss insurance coverage and provide a written estimate of fees. Please be aware that many problems or disorders of the mouth or jaws are considered non-dental in nature, and therefore may not be covered by insurance or may be covered under your medical plan.

IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at the consultation visit and surgery appointment.

Please assist us by providing the following information at your first visit:

Referral Slip

Your dentist will complete a referral slip and either mail, email or give it to you to bring to your appointment. This provides us with the correct information about the treatment you need.
